Bridges

A bridge is one way to replace a missing tooth when there is a tooth on either side of the tooth that is missing. The teeth on either side of the space are prepared for crowns and the missing tooth is connected to the two crowns. Bridges are esthetic and close the gap where one or more teeth may have been. A bridge can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials.   Many dental insurance plans will cover some portion for a bridge, depending upon when the missing tooth was lost.

The success of any bridge depends on its foundation — the other teeth, gums, or bone to which it is attached. Therefore, it’s very important to keep your existing teeth, gums, and jaw healthy and strong.
